Welcome!
I'm Chantelle, I'm a small town gal who collects farm animals, breeds Mini Aussies and loves to create pretty things.
My passion for turquoise runs deep, like really deep!
I have been collecting turquoise for more than half my life, and am so excited to now make and sell my own! I'm a self taught silversmith and my love for these blue stones started out early in life.
I grew up next door to my Grandma, whom I get my jewelry-loving gene from. She had the most amazing collection and one of my favorite things was to go through all of her jewels, try them on and she would tell me exactly what mine the stones came from, where the mines were located and what minerals make the color. We also shared a love for Native American culture, and she would tell me about her childhood stories, growing up in a teeny-tiny town in Utah and the Indians who shared the area.
In my favorite story, she grew up the youngest of 8 kids, lost her dad at two years old and grew up extremely poor with an incredible single mom. One day, she was sitting on her back porch heartbroken over her only doll's head that had fallen off. She was around 6 at the time and knew she'd never get a new doll until Christmas. There was a little village of Native Americans living just down the street at the time. The Chief somehow saw her crying and walked up and took her by the hand. He brought her into his teepee and drilled two holes through a penny to sew her doll's head back on and then walked her back home. I remember her talking about his silver concho's and beautiful clothing, and that image fascinated me.
That kindness was something that stuck with her her whole life, and mine.
She has now passed on, and I absolutely adored her. But, this somehow makes me feel closer to her.
A lot of love and heart goes into each piece. I am drawn to each stone that I buy and all stones are handpicked and from local American mines & vendors located in Nevada, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.
My goal is to make heirloom jewelry that can be passed on to future generations.
I hope you find something meaningful, from me to you.
Thanks for stopping by!
XO,
Channy
